Understanding The Grading System For Refurbished Mobile Phones

So you’ve decided to buy or sell to the refurbished marketplace.

Good job! Your pocket and the planet will thank you.

“But how do I know what I’m going to get?” You ask tentatively. You’ve shopped secondhand and sold goods at online auction before, with mixed results. And if there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that uncertainty is uncomfortable.

Well, here’s some piece of mind from your friends at Doji. Because buying and selling with us will never leave you wondering what to expect. There are 5 categories that your mobile device may fall into at Doji, and this is common throughout the refurbished marketplace. This impacts the price you’ll pay (for buying) and how much you’ll get (for selling), as well as eligibility for returns and warranties.

That way, you can choose exactly what to prioritise, fully understanding what you’ll get in return.

Those categories are based on condition and look like this:

Mint: Pre-owned mobile phones that have no visible signs of use and look brand new, in pristine condition.

Very good: Mobile phones with minimum wear and tear, probably on the aluminum back or sides.

Good: Mobile phones that have a couple of visible scratches or marks, but are in full working order.

Needs repair: Mobile phones with cracked, scratched or broken glass screens. Also, phones that need software or hardware repair.

Parts-only: Mobile phones with cracked screens, bad ESN numbers, and any other damage that would make the device useless to anyone besides a repair shop looking for scrap parts.

Now, let’s go a little deeper. To qualify for each label, every one of these attributes must be met. Pay special attention if you’re planning to sell, because the following will help you understand what your device is worth.
